Converting arXiv to PDF

As a viewable, linkable format, PDF is convenient for presenting a linked archive in which the links are added to the original source documents viewed as PDF. Choose demonstrator
The majority of the papers submitted to the Los Alamos arXiv physics archives are in TeX source, with the rest in PostScript, PDF or HTML formats, and have been converted to PDF for this demonstrator.
PDF files are permanently stored and do not require the user to wait for conversion. The reference linked PDF files are generated dynamically from the unlinked PDFs.
TeX and PostScript files in the following sub-archives of arXiv.org had (by the end of 1999) been converted to PDF files (success rate 90.7%). The table below gives details of the TeX->PDF conversion. (Note: From 2000, we do not convert TeX/PS files to PDF files, but retrieve the PDF version of the documents in the following sub-archives direcly from the local mirror site of arXiv.org.)
